The specialist expertise in all aspects of housing law within Chambers enables us to provide breadth and depth of advice for PRPs in relation to the full range of governance issues which arise. Cases Of Note

In R (Weaver) v London & Quadrant Housing Trust [2009] EWCA Civ 587, the Court of Appeal held that a registered social landlord had acted as a public authority for the purposes of s.6 Human Rights Act 1998, and was accordingly amenable to judicial review, when serving a notice of seeking possession on a tenant.  Andrew Arden QC and Christopher Baker appeared on behalf of London & Quadrant Housing Trust.

In Riverside Housing Association v White [2007] UKHL 20; [2007] HLR 31, Andrew Arden QC and Iain Colville represented the RSL, and Christopher Baker led for the Housing Corporation, in a dispute about the lawfulness and recoverability of the RSL’s rent increases for its assured tenants.
